New costume!!
This is what I call "Beach Leia," from a 1978 Saturday Night Live skit that Carrie Fisher appeared on. Enjoy, with my apologies that it's been such a freaking long time since I posted anything.

Wow...
Holy buckets, it's been a while since I updated my blog! I never told you all about my Japan trip (although, to be fair, Amber already did such an eloquent job of that I was never really up to the challenge), my lousy summer of theatrical fail, or my Disney trip.
The thing is, there hasn't been much worth mentioning. No real accomplishments or prospective boyfriends or possible adventures. I went to Disneyworld for a whole week with the hope of getting hired to work at Tokyo Disney, and that was a real test of my faith when I came back with nothing to show for all that effort. That was such a bummer on so many levels. I really thought something was going to come of that trip. Sure, I knew it was a long shot that I would get a job with so much competition (one of the auditions had over 140 people), but I really thought there was some bigger plan for me to go to Florida in the first place on a whim. I didn't choose to go there; I really thought I was being led to go there. I know that it's not always possible to see or to know why God puts us in places, but I really struggled with God on this one when all I got out of it was a fun vacation that I didn't actually need or want or could afford.
To be fair, I did have fun. It wasn't as much fun as it would have been if I had had my adorable friends with me, but I managed to make the most of it. I went on the new Star Tours ride 9 times, and didn't even manage to get all the different scenarios that you can randomly get. (Naboo was the planet I never made it to.) I hit all the parks, met up with some Star Wars people, ate alot of food, and charmed several people by carrying my flowery umbrella everywhere. A habit I may have picked up in Japan... It was a good time, I will grudgingly admit. ;-)
I just wish that something would happen to me! Someone would cast me in their show or give me some purpose or something!
I am back to sewing, though. I will have a new costume for the Renaissance Festival this year, so I am looking forward to that.

Is the costume blog coming back?
Maybe... I figured out how to make it so that now when you click on the in-progress pictures on the side, it will automatically take you to all the posts that mention those costumes. The rest of the links I have renamed under "Completed Costumes." I don't know anything about HTML, but if I did I could make this blog a whole lot cooler.
Oh, and I also added a "Home" link at the top. Not that my blog has seen alot of action lately, but it all got me thinking about possibly starting another one that would be open to everyone, and would include both costume progress and events that I am involved in. The only thing really holding me back from doing that is the possibility of encouraging stalker-ish behavior. The problem is there are people who legitimately want to know when I am performing in a show or concert, but I don't have a good way of letting those individuals know every single time something comes up. And keeping track of who is interested in which type of performance. Sigh...
In the meantime, you are the only ones who know what is really going on. The rest generally just have to wait for the costume debut in order to see anything.

IOU
Yes, I know. I still need to talk about my super, wonderful, relaxing, amazing trip to Okinawa. And lots of other things that have been happening.
In the meantime, here are the main things I am preoccupied with lately. No surprises here.
-Costuming (springtime finally came to MN, which means I am motivated!)
-Auditioning (so far, this has been nothing but epic fail)
-Hanging out (no romantic entanglements, just friends)
Oh, and since Amber doesn't have Facebook, I need to include this photo since she will appreciate it.

When he held out his arm to me and escorted me around the masquerade, I could've sworn I was the luckiest girl at the ball. :-)
Oh, and one more photo...just to prove that I am making progress on the Ahsoka.
